WHO WE ARE

Hector Yague is a Co-Founder of Genesis Digital. As the original creator of Genesis Digital’s products, Hector Yague is both a design enthusiast and a SaaS veteran, constantly working to create, enhance and develop his ideas into industry-leading software. As Genesis Digital’s Co-Founder, Hector took cues from market trends, revenue data, user feedback and competitor analysis to envision SaaS platforms that both disrupt and solve real-world problems. As an entrepreneur, his key focus lies in product conceptualization and development, working closely with the design and engineering teams. Hector studied Business Management at Universidad Autonóma de Madrid.

Aaron Funk is the VP of Finance at Genesis Digital. He is responsible for all Financial/Operational forecasting, reporting, and analysis as well as leading the Accounting, Analytics, and Procurement functions. Prior to Genesis Digital, he held a number of finance roles in his 10+ years at Constant Contact, culminating in leading the FP&A team through a PE-backed acquisition. Prior to Constant Contact he worked at Fidelity Investments. He holds a BBA degree in Finance from The University of Massachusetts, Amherst and an MBA from Boston University.

Darren Hakeman is the CEO of Genesis Digital, responsible for all operational aspects of the company. Darren has more than 20 years of experience launching, scaling and transforming SaaS technology companies. From 2013 until 2021, Hakeman led Strategy and Corporate Development for 8x8, Inc., transitioning the company from a siloed solution vendor for small businesses into a leading fully-integrated cloud communications platform for small, midmarket and enterprise customers through the acquisition and integration of 8 companies and scaling of ARR by 5x to more than $500m. Previously, he has held executive-level roles in product management, marketing, engineering and professional services. Darren received BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering from Stanford University.

Rachel Leonard, SHRM-CP, is the Sr. Director of Human Resources at Genesis Digital and has been with Genesis Digital since 2019. She holds a BA from Western Michigan University and a MA from The University of Texas and is currently based in Detroit. Rachel brings her background in education, non-profit management, and business operations to our global People Ops efforts here at GD. Rachel is responsible for planning, developing, and directing the administration of all HR functions. She sees the unique challenges of a fully distributed, international workforce as an exciting opportunity to enrich our company culture, and is focused on growing our team and business in a sustainable way.

Francisco, a seasoned professional with 20+ years experience in the software industry, currently leads product management at Genesis Digital, LLC. With a track record of directing the development and implementation of dozens of products in multicultural teams, he plays a crucial role in shaping the strategic and tactical aspects of digital products.

Bonnie Hargrove is the VP of Strategic Programs & Customer Support and has been at Genesis Digital since 2020. Bonnie is an Operational Executive who gets things done. With extensive experience in various areas such as program management, business process optimization, accounts receivable, product development, QA testing, Customer Support, and Customer Experience, Bonnie has built a solid foundation that empowers her to deliver impactful business outcomes for Genesis Digital. She holds a BBA degree in Sports Biology and an MBA from West Texas A&M University.

Sarah Jenkins is a Co-Founder of Genesis Digital. She is an accomplished serial entrepreneur, podcaster, and business strategist. She is also a frequent contributor to Forbes where she shares her guidance on balancing the challenges of growing successful businesses while simultaneously raising five children. Sarah began her entrepreneurial career in the fitness industry, launching SoCal Fitness with a self-funded growth model and creating one of the leading websites in the market. Sarah subsequently was a core member of the team that built Genesis Digital and recently served as CEO of Genesis Digital, guiding the company’s strategy and operations. Today she continues to serve on the Genesis Digital board while also sharing her business wisdom and life lessons with fellow entrepreneurs.

Vik Verma is the Executive Chairman of Genesis Digital. Vik has over 30 years experience leading technology companies and continues to serve as a Board Member to a variety of leading SaaS organizations. Verma began his career at Savi Technology, Inc., a pioneer in the internet of things, eventually becoming its Chairman and CEO. After he led Savi's acquisition by Lockheed Martin (NYSE: LMT), Vik served as the President of Strategic Venture Development for Lockheed Martin. After leaving Lockheed Martin, he was appointed as the CEO of Silicon Valley based cloud communications company 8×8, Inc. (NASDAQ: EGHT) and served in that role until December of 2020.

Vik has earned 3 degrees in electrical engineering from the Florida Institute of Technology, the University of Michigan, and Stanford University and has attended executive management programs at Harvard Business School, the University of California-Berkeley, and Stanford University.
